The performance “Romeo and Juliet” by Theatre ANPU is an author’s performance using the text by W. Shakespeare. We decided to study the performance in an unusual way - to study a performance which is creative, experimental, where the main setting is a painted velvet curtain and 70-year-old puppet theatre. The city of Verona is painted on the curtain, and its windows, doors, paths and others are passages that can be opened and shut so that the scene can be accessed by flat puppets. And so the curtain which is to be used as a “scene” will for a time turn into a real theatre. 30-cm high puppets - marionettes will perform in the 70-year-old puppet theatre. Besides these two main attributes, everyone plays everything in the performance. Living actors, disguises, shadows, candles, live music, feelings, puppets …
