TICK-TICK POLITICS

The political merry-go-round grinds reality up and tears it to meaningless shreds. The mechanism that transforms a man into a politician is not easily adjustable, let alone manageable. Four actors, four microphones. Voice, rhythm, word, syllable, sound.

This performance received the prestigious international Music Theatre Now award from the International Theatre Institute (ITI).

Boca Loca Lab is a creative platform for hosting theatre performances, scenic sketches and workshops. On the Czech scene it represents the avant-garde of the “théâtre musical” form, in which the principles of music and theatre are intertwined. It was founded and is led by director Jiri Adamek, who is also the author of the librettos to all the projects presented so far (Tika tika politika – 2006/ Ticking Politics, Kliknete na video – 2007/ Click on the Video, Evropane – 2008/ Europeans). In 2007 he was elected Osobnost roku (Celebrity of the Year) at the Next Wave festival in the alternative theatre genre.
