Can Art be a Service? Presentation of the project The Stranger Gets a Gift Service.

The SGGS is an entity that frames art as a service. It establishes zones of temporary encounters to revise our perception of what is personal, what is common, and what is the role of art in addressing personal and existential needs.

By creating pieces that serve personalized purposes and using tools that belong to the protocols of services, SGGS explores the questions: Can art be a service? Can being moved be treated as an essential need that can be met, provided, systematized and organized?

This “Can Art be a Service?” night will offer a glimpse into the development of this research by displaying a fanzine that presents what the SGGS is and how it functions, along with sound and visual installations that contain archives of the works in progress from each of the three performances: Amuleto, Interruptor and Reminiscencia.

The vernissage is also an invitation to sign up for the The Stranger Gets a Gift Service, in the Alfred ve dvoře Theatre on October 1st, 2nd and 3rd, 2013.
