A dance solo inspired by the poetry and life of Czech poet Irma Geisslová. Through transformations of one woman using mute word, the voice of dance and videographology, this performance takes a moment to look for connections between women at the turn of different centuries.
Somebody once told me that I live in the last century. So I told myself not to be ironic and I took a look at that time. In order to be able to do so, I had to learn to stop myself. One of things that helped me do so were the poems of Irma Geisslová. Stopping for a minute and becoming aware of oneself, just for a few seconds, an historical compression, a feeling, and experience taking from looking back into the past, a past I may even have lived and which probalbly influences my present-day experience. Bára Látalová graduated from the Duncan Centre Dance Conservatory in Prague and continues her studies to this day within the projects of SE.S.TA. Since 2003 she is a member of the NIE international performance group. Apart from dancing and choreography she also teaches dance to children.
As part of the Dance in Schools project she created the dance performance for children Fg=Gm1m2/r2. From 2005-2007 she taught movement for actors at the HINT High School in Norway.
M. Daniel Huffsteter
Atter studies at the Václav Hollar Art Scholol and the Centre for Electronic Art, she had a year-long placement at AVU in the New Media Studio and studied at the Department of Alternative and Puppet Theatre of the DAMU theatre academy. She is now focussed on independent theatre and costume creation, as well as graphic design. She is a founder of the open group Kolouchův sen, an independent group of women artists, with Michaela Huffsteter and Hana Poislová at its core. The group probes unconventional methods of creation and presentation of clothing and accessories. Performances are site – specific – using and adapting to the unique atmosphere of unusual spaces.
Nikola Semotánová
graduated from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, Department of Metalwork and Jewelry. She still works on design and on jewelry, but works mostly as a conceptual artist. She has exhibited in the Czech Republic, England, Italy, Germany, and Australia. She has also presented work as part of shared exhibitions in the Školská 28 space, in the castle mill in Jindřichův Hradec and elsewhere. Since 2008 she has been an active member of the Kolochův sen group.
In 2010 she exhibited to success in London (as part of theMind the Gap exhibition; at the Crypt Gallery and The Stones of Menace exhibition; in the Brutalist Church St. Paul Bow Common).
