Like the ancient goddess Ishtar descending to the underworld – the dancing soul also sinks to its core to be reborn.
This multidisciplinary project involves dance and theatre features, live music and elements of fine arts employing stage objects, water, fire and earth.
The performance is inspired by an Egyptian myth of initiation. It tells a story of a woman who leaves heaven and earth to enter the darkness. It expresses the necessity of fighting for one’s life, a challenging and exigent journey resulting in the creation of an independent individuality. The story stresses the need of accepting responsibility for one’s actions and speaks of latent inner powers.
