WORK IN REGRESS PT. 1

Ioana Mona Popovici
performance length: 35 min
persuasive physical theatre

Humorous, and often sinister investigation of a master´s regression after his loss of power and authority.
(Aoife McGrafth, Dance Europe)

Part one of a trilogy, based on personal experiences, exploring the interconnections and mutual dependencies between domination and servitude and inspired in part by George Orwell’s Animal Farm. What happens to someone who is used to being the master if there’s nothing to be master of? How would such a master react when meeting a dumb sheep?
Popovici is the resident artist in Motus for 2011. Her new theatre project will premiere at Alfred ve dvoře in fall 2011.
