A souped-up series of the most interesting films from this year’s largest Czech festival of animated film include the winning films from not only established film-makers but also thought-provoking and sought-after Film students.

In Biograph you can see the Chain Saw by Dennis Tupicoff of Australia, a well-told story of conflict between love and death which the AniFest jury have voted the best film under 60 minutes. A commendation in the same category went to Magdalena Bartakova for Zahrada uzavrena (Garden Closed), her graduation work. The winning piece in the 15 minutes category, Ten, from France, which provides an innovative approach to the technique of digital animation will be also screened. And more, surrealist cartoon entitled A Nice Day for a Picnic by Monica Gallab, who has won this year’s Prize for the best student film. The prize winners of the Best Internet Film, Best Custom-made Animated Film, and other treats are awaiting you that night.

The screening is presented in cooperation with AniFest 2009 – the International Film Festival.
