Václav Havel's texts as an open platform. / in Czech or English.

The seventh anniversary of Václav Havel's death will be on Tuesday, December 18th, 2018. Starting at 5 PM that day there will be an open event in the Alfred ve dvoře Theatre titled READINGS FROM HAVEL. All are welcome to stop in for a while and read (or just listen to) favourite passages from Havel's work. Havel’s personal, artistic, philosophical and political texts capture reflect a specific world of thought, the moral blueprints of which have carried into the values of a large segment of the Czech population. His writings still represent a significant personal, political and intellectual alternative.

A moment of concentration and the chance to turn right back to the source – Havel own’s thoughts, reflections, plays, childrens‘ stories or poems. The event’s program is unscheduled in advance – everything will unfold will unfold spontaneously based on what visitors choose to read, to which texts they turn to again. Will they choose something new, will the same texts resonate differently this year? Will this be the same active audience, or others?

The doors of the theatre will remain open until 9 PM, entry is of course free.
