OPEN DISCUSSION WITH THE ARTISTS OF PERFORMING V4 – BIENNIAL LED BY THE CRITICS OF KÖM

in English
performance length: 120 min
The workshop entitled KÖM (Critics’ Self-Educating Workshop) is held with the participation of five Hungarian dance critics (coming from different backgrounds, with varying approaches), discussing the performances and writing reviews for the biennial blog and on the Dance Script blog.

KÖM will be led by two critics, Zita Sándor (who already participated in Dance Script Laboratory and MAKT), and Orsolya Bálint (who joined MAKT the previous year and also led the Talking Through V4+ sessions at L1danceFest 2014), utilizing their prior experiences and setting the framework of the workshop accordingly with the previous years’ laboratories.
The leaders of KÖM will also lead an open discussion with the artists and audience members of Performing V4 in Prague.

This open discussion is for anyone interested in dance and criticism and entry is free.

Performing V4 - Biennial of VARP-PA
Residents takes place 26-27-28th February 2015 in Prague (CZ). Performing V4 - Biennial of VARP-PA Residents is an initiative by 4 performing arts organizations like: L1 Egyesület (H), Nová síť o.s. (CZ), Art Stations Foundation (PL) and Truc sphérique, nezisková organizácia (SK), to launch a professional festival taking place every 2 years that presents the work of selected artists supported by International Visegrad Fund’s Residency Programme for Performing Arts (VARP-PA).

The project responds to the lack of such a regional platform for emerging artists in the field of performing arts and by making a different country a host every 2 years, it also ensures that such an event can be connected to different local contexts.
The selection of performances and the accompanying program of the biennial (debates, exhibitions, other events) are collectively curated by project partners. Both are developed with the educational purpose of providing a better understanding of current tendencies of contemporary performance in the V4 and CEE region for the general, as well as the professional public.
