This year’s Literature Night takes plat in the Letná area, taking visitors to spaces both familiar and new. From 6 PM to 11 PM, in regular, half-hour intervals, Ladislav Mrkvička will read from the Czech translation of Julian Barnes‘ “Sense of an Ending“. This is the novel for which the author received the 2011 Man Booker Prize – or in the words of Barnes, he won the “posh bingo“ . The main themes of the book are the same as the themes chosen for the Alfred ve dvoře Theatre for 2013: memory, old age, and dying.
