EVERYWHEN / Soňa Ferienčíková, Mária Júdová, Alexandra Timpau
Spectaculare, Czech Dance Platform
performance length: 35 min
This international collective whirls together new music, movement and imagery in an intermedial performance on history's endless rotation. Everywhen orbits around two sides of life - the personal and the political. An often caring, gentle and well-meaning personal life is contrasted here with the reality of the social individual, who can often be sinister, vengeful and hateful. But how can we be critical to our own world views when they are created by those closest to us?
A woman as loving mother who also promotes murder and slavery; a loving couple involved in the propaganda of a perverse ideology; kids that give a fascist salute as if in play. Something is wrong in these scenes. Images of everyday families, mums and dads with their children, tiny groups of people, close to each other, face to face with the threat of history repeating itself.
Our memories often surface suddenly, changed, idealized, and sometimes they even erase themselves spontaneously. By leaving out key events and rewriting history a barrier is built between the new generation and older people, and this is makes it too easy for history to repeat itself. Is it even possible to stop history from repeating itself when ideology is written into the body like DNA? An intimate situation in a frightfully familiar context.

ALEX TIMPAU is a self-taught sound artist. She studied Architecture and Urban planning in Romania, yet after finishing her studies and moving to Prague she was hypnotized by the practice of live- coding sound. Soon joining Kolektiv, an international open group of artists working in the realm of algorithmic visuals and electronic music she performed in various venues in the Czech Republic and abroad. She is interested in blending atmospheric sound design with polyrhythmic patterns, finding her inspiration in religious practices of her homeland, contemporary parametric music and industrial techno.
MÁRIA JÚDOVÁ is digital artist interested in applying the choreographic thinking to practice of digital artists and vice versa. During her studies at the department of Digital media at Academy of Arts in Slovakia, followed by the depart- ment of Installation and performance at École de recherche graphique in Brussels, she became particularly interested in exploring the intersection of digital and performance arts, which resulted in numerous dance on camera movies. Later on, she has been researching at FAMU Center for Audiovisual studies in Prague, taking a critical perspective on the common algorithmic approach to visualize the moving body. She has received award from festival Screenmotion festival in London and spent artist’s residency programme in Theater Roxy in Basel and Rambert Dance Company in London. Her works have been presented at Tabacka Kulturfabrik in Košice, festival Hybaj ho! in Prague, Cinedans in Amsterdam, Dutch Electronic Festival in Rotterdam, Das Tanzfest 2015 in Basel, Atonal in Berlin, Accès(s) – festival cultures électroniques in Pau and V&A Museum in London among many others.
