L1 danceLab is a collective of 7 independent dancers, choreographers and teachers (Gyula Berger, Eszter Gál, Ákos Hargitay, Márta Ladjánszki, Andrea Mészöly, Michaela Pein, Réka Szabó) who team up in the field of contemporary performing art. Their primarily focus is to create performances with the concern of research, try out and develop of new ideas.
L1 danceLab is the collective´s home, located at an old factory in Pest.
The danceLab functions as an experimental studio space for creation with its two studios. Its a place where performances are born. Its mission is to become a choreographic center with the addition of hosting workshops, community programs, research exchange programs, conferences and to become a regular performance place in the near future.
