BAZAAR 2016 Festival / Identity in Art and Motion

performance length: min
18 - 20 March 2016, Prague. FESTIVAL PASS IS AVAILABLE ON GOOUT.CZ.

An international dance and performing arts festival featuring the visions of artists not only from the Czech Republic but from other countries in central and eastern Europe. All are dealing with questions of identity in art and motion.

The program includes exclusive performances by guest companies, Czech premieres of works first tested at last year’s Bazaar, a workshop, discussions and informal meetings. The festival climax will be the Saturday Bazaar, presenting in two blocks excerpts and work-in-progress showings from future performances by artists from Prague, Bucharest, Tula, Warsaw, Žilina, and Budapest. Performances and events will take place in Studio ALTA, the PONEC Theatre, and of course the ALFRED VE DVOŘE Theatre, main organizer of the festival.

The very first Bazaar festival took place in 2015 as part of the Identity.Move! project - an international platform for the support of theoretical and artistic research in contemporary physical and dance theatre. Identity.Move! was coordinated by Goethe-Institut Warsaw in cooperation with Centre for Culture Lublin, Motus, producers of the Alfred ve dvoře Theatre Prague and the State School of Dance in Athens with the support of the Culture Programme of the European Union. The main organizer of this year’s festival is Motus, producers of the Alfred ve dvoře Theatre in cooperation with many national cultural institutes, Tanec Praha and Studio Alta.
