EXHIBITION / ESZTER HEROLD, ZSUZSI PALMAN25.02. 2015
Exhibition is part of PERFORMING V4 - biennial.
Opening: 26th February, 9.30 pm
Concept – choreography – dance: Eszter Herold
Artworks – installation – visualisation: Zsuzsi Palman
Waiting. Wasting. Waiting. Barrenness. Fruitfulness. The most elemental states of womanhood. In body and soul. Creating as giving birth. Waiting as erosion. Waiting as a gift, a blessing. 9 icons. 9 stories. Told in movements and pictures instead of words.
From September 2014 to February 2015. 9 icons. Dance, drawing, video, music.
The topic is the physiological and psychological state of a woman, whose body is ready for conception – time is passing by and she lacks the baby her body desires for. A kind of biological and psychological erosion begins which she tries to arrest. The project is a trial of understanding, observing and finding peace and rest in this waiting-wasting period.
The project won VARP-PA Artist Residency Program in 2014. Eszter Herold (dancer, member of L1 Association) and Zsuzsi Palman (visual artist) have spent a part of their summer at Hradec Králové, CZ, been working on the Convex project. By this time there were a third soul with them (although within a body), Eszter’s son, Álmos. His natural wisdom and power have been very important elements of the creation process.

"Ego-destroyers" Art Group
I am one of the founders of it. Our aim is the Gesamtkunstwerk. We've worked together since 2012, had 3 happenings at Budapest. The members (basically 8 people, but changing project to project) are artists, photographers, dancers, and musicians. We believe in nomen est omen, so these happenings are not about self-management, but about spreading our thoughts, and the value of art.
Cinépoetry
I have made poem-videos since 2012 with my creative partner, Imola Julianna Szabó, who is a writer. Our videos can be found on my website, www.virtualisoromok.blogspot.com.
"Presented as a multimedia object of a fixed duration, the principal function of a video-poem is to demonstrate the process of thought and the simultaneity of experience, expressed in words – visible and/or audible – whose meaning is blended with, but not illustrated by, the images and the soundtrack.”
